As part of the new site we wanted to give people an opportunity to send in some photos of the community to highlight the upcoming Mistissini day. Here are some of the submissions that were provided by our viewers.
The CNM Council and Administration welcome all members and residents of Mistissini to our 2nd Annual Mistissini Day.
Events will begin at 10:00 am at the Elders Point. Followed by Traditional games, Traditional Feast and Entertainment at the Track & Field.
Mistissini as a region for our people began well before the establishment of our community. In the 1800’s it represented a vibrant area where people hunted, trapped, fished and gathered. During the 1900’s the fur trade post was established and began the formation of a community that we have today.
Today there are over 4000 people that live here and we are a growing community still. Come be part of the event and visit www.mistissini.ca for more info.
